Mr. Porter's Classes: What you need and what you need to do!
As we embark on a new term I look forward to a successful year in mathematics and science. Both the science and math programs are student centered programs that incorporate active learning and problem-solving using real-life situations to help students experience these subjects firsthand.
There will be homework three or four nights a week and some activities for you to share and experience as a family. If you have questions about the work, want an explanation of how a problem might be solved, or want to find out what the homework is call me at school between 3pm-4pm. (# 785-4504) or at home (785-6721) or email. ([email protected])
Materials Needed:
Homework: 3-4 times a week, plus long term assignments, and presentations.
Grading: Students will be graded on their performance in the following areas:
General Rules:
As an educator I strive to provide my students with as many real life learning encounters as possible. If you or anyone you know would like to visit my science class please let me know. Parent and friend volunteers, guest speakers and anyone who would like to spend some time with us are always welcome.
Thank you.
