Glad to see that some of us have temped the waters with the forum. Give it a try! Today I have a note from Mr. Todd about the up coming soccer schedule. For those of you who where wondering here it is!
As we kick off our Busline League soccer season here at AVS, we are still finalizing our game schedule. I will pass it out to players and families as soon as I can (hopefully, on Monday). On Monday, September 13, we will travel to Lincolnville Central School for our first game. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:45 and the bus will be returning around 5:30. I will be passing out uniforms on Friday, September 10, to students in grades 6 and 7. Students in grade 8 will be getting their uniforms on Monday. In order to participate in the game on Monday, students must have proof of insurance and a current physical on file in the office. Also, students must be equipped with a mouth guard and shin guards in order to play. Go Wildcats!
Mr. Todd
Well after awaking to the sound of rain this morning, putting the students on the bus and teaching a few class I headed down to Kieve to a marvelous day and a group of smiling, active and engaged kids. It was great to see them, share stories from the morning and the lunch menu. We have had our taste of corn dogs!
I sat in on a few of their classes and was impressed with the level of student involvement and teacher delivery of the lesson. Kieve provides many ways for students to both involve and challenge themselves throughout the day. Makes for a rewarding time for this class of future classmates.
7th grade did some work on the laptops and were assigned a Current Science reading task which is due on Friday. in math we were continuing with the graphing work that we did yesterday. No math homework tonight.
6th grade I have not seen for a week so look forward to meeting with them tomorrow.
So today I was doing my civic duty at the courthouse in Rockland as a member of the August/September jury panel. This was a first for me. It is an interesting experience which I am glad to have completed and it is even sweeter in the fact that I was not chosen for any of the trials this session. I have spent two days this summer with this duty, sitting, observing and learning about how the judicial system operates at this level. Very interesting!
With that duty now behind me I am off to Kieve with the 8th graders tomorrow. Looking forward to see how they work into their responsibilities there. Usually a great experience for all. Will try to get some pictures when I am there.
Thanks to Melaine Bragg for subbing in my room today. Alway good to have a familiar face in the room.
Trust all had a good Labor Day weekend and I see that soccer was getting underway this afternoon after school. Great to have a team getting ready for their season.
